Current and planned projects for some of our historic pioneer cemeteries

 Pine Grove Historic Cemetery

Currently one member of the ACHCB is researching all the 20th century burials in the  cemetery  through a local mortuary. Efforts are being made in our "Who Was I?" campaign to  identify all  unmarked graves. Local historical newspapers and correspondence are also being   researched to identify unknowns.

Repairs to plots are being made carefully, to preserve the historic integrity of this shady  cemetery. ACHCB has already placed a number of headstones where only mortuary markers  stood. Several previously unmarked graves have been identified.

The ACHCB plans to install a large plaque listing the names of all those known to be buried in  the Pine Grove Historic Cemetery, but whose exact location in the cemetery is not known.

The cemetery is mapped and tombstones transcribed.

Aqueduct Cemetery:

ACHCB's identification of all graves at this cemetery is still in progress.  Repairs to broken headstones and curbing have been completed.

The cemetery is mapped and tombstones transcribed.

IOOF Fiddletown:

This cemetery was cleared of weeds, brush and saplings threatening grave stones or curbing. The fence and gate were repaired. Headstones needing repair have been identified and repaired.  There is ongoing weed abatement and fire hazard reduction.

The cemetery is mapped and tombstones transcribed..

 Fiddletown Masonic Cemetery

ACHCB cleared all the brush threatening stone work. Then repaired damaged tombstones.

Weed abatement is an ongoing annual project. Eradicating poison oak was a huge project, but now it's safe to wander through the graves.

The cemetery is mapped and tombstones transcribed.

Fiddletown Protestant Cemetery

ACHCB did weed abatement to minimize fire danger.  Broken headstones were repaired and reseated. Damaged curbing was repaired.  All tombstones in the cemetery were transcribed.

The Fiddletown Cemetery Committee assumed care for this cemetery in 2016.

The cemetery is mapped and tombstones transcribed.

Volcano Protestant Cemetery

Weeds were cut, tree limbs threatening stonework were removed. Several broken stones were repaired. Further work is needed.

The Volcano Service District will be handling that cemetery care  in the future.

The cemetery is mapped and tombstones transcribed.
