No, 4 of the 5 Board Members currently have petitions being circulated for their recall. These 4 board members are:
Trustee Area 1: Kandi Thompson
Trustee Area 2: Deborah Pulskamp
Trustee Area 4: Susan Ross
Trustee Area 5: Janet White
How do I find out what District I am in?
The ACUSD Trustee Areas line up with the County Supervisor Districts. If you still need help, we are happy to assist you. Simply call 209-223-6465 and we will look up your information and let you know.
How long can petitions be circulated?
The amount of time proponents have to collect signatures is based on registered voters in each area, so the simple answer is between 60 and 90 days.
Trustee Areas 1, 4 and 5 have more than 1 but fewer than 5000 registered voters, so those petitions are required to be filed by 5PM on July 9, 2019. Since Trustee Area 2 has more than 5000 but fewer than 10000 registered voters, that petition is required to be filed by 5PM on August 8, 2019. (EC§11220(a))
How many signatures are required to have an election?
The number of signatures required is based on 25% of the number of registered voters in each Trustee Area as of the last report of registration to the Secretary of State's office. (EC§11221)
As of the February 10, 2019 report of registration, the following numbers apply:
1 - Kandi Thompson
2 - Deborah Pulskamp
4 - Susan Ross
5 - Janet White
If Board Members are recalled, how would they be replaced?
If a recall petition meets the signature requirements, and the recall moves to an election, candidates to replace the current officer will file for candidacy to be placed on the same recall ballot. A recall ballot is two parts. First, is the question as to whether the officer should be removed from office. Second, is the contest to fill the vacancy should the officer be recalled. (EC§11320-11322)
Also, the officer being recalled cannot file candidacy to fill the office they vacated. (EC§11381(c))
